Lisha "Nina Li" Arrington was born and raised in Portsmouth, VA, which is a
small city that packs a powerful punch. Growing up in a neighborhood known
for drugs and violence, Nina Li is one of many artists who will tell her
story through her music. Her music is her testimony to the trials and
tribulations endured while living in Jeffery Wilson projects. She relates
to many people who have been faced with adversity. She was over-exposed to
the elements that came with living in the projects and is still triumphant
when it comes to realizing her purpose in life. At 24 years of age, Nina Li
is determined to reach out to the troubled and provide an outlet for people
who feel like there is no one the world who can relate to their story. When
asked what she wants to change about our society, she simply states,"For
our youth not to be canceled out by stereo types. We represent who we are
as products of our environments and the world needs to embrace us and
respect our situations." Another star destined to rise again.
